new turbo put in, car still running like shit

well i got my new(ish) turbo installed, just a replacement for my stock twins on my 1jz but my car still runs like shit. it is running pig rich, to the point that it misfires and bogs down if you engage the throttle more than 1/5th of the way. you can just smell the fuel getting dumped in there. i replaced the spark plugs cuz they were fouled up really badly. from what i was reading in this section, it could be caused by my ecu going bad, my tps going bad, my fuel pump going bad or a vacuum line being fucked up.

i check my vacuum lines and they appear to be ok. i guess i was wondering if anyone in the columbus/atlanta GA area had a spare ecu that i could use to see if thats the problem. if not, i guess i need to look elsewhere. is there anyone that would be willing to help me out? or give me ideas on what to look for?

totally stock 1jz. guy i bought it from *facepalm* said he put in a walbro 255. other than that, totally stock 1jz

Did it run this way before the turbo swap (I'm assuming so)? If so, why did you think changing out the stock twins would fix a fueling issue??

Most likely root cause at this point: Faulty capacitors in the ECU.

Its not to hard to check your caps either. Just pull out your ECU and take a look

Seems like this is what happens when the capacitors go bad. I think www.driftmotion.com is redoing them if you send them in. I don't know how much it cost, and it may be something you can do yourself if you're willing to take it on. Good luck either way.

I'm pretty sure I gave my ecu away, but I'll check in the morning.

The turbo has nothing to do with the car running badly.

Probably the ecu, but might be a bad harness? Has the car ever ran ok?

the car ran perfectly when i first got it, then i blew the turbos (happened suddenly, with no warning or the engine acting weird) and got them replaced. when i was driving my car to the mechanic to get the turbos replaced, it was running real rich and driving crappy, i attributed that to my turbos being fucked up. however, even with my new set of turbo's it still runs like shit.

basically, you guys have helped me narrow my search, now im just hoping someone in the ATL area can loan me an ecu just to confirm that its fucked up. or if they have an extra, let me buy it off them if thats the problem.
