new problem

ok i have cranked the car before with no problem. now my wire that goes from my ignition to the battery came off of the terminal. i hooked it up and car cranked. i tried it this past weekend and everytime i touched the wire to the terminal it arced really bad almost to the point that it started burning the wire to the post. is there something that may be grounding out somewhere. anyone who can help plz.

I assume since you posted in the 'other engine' forum you have a 1jz or 2jz. If that's the case and you recently swapped, make sure you didn't accidentally ground the alternator power lead, it's a ring terminal coming off the passenger side of the motor, just above the alt. Also make sure you didn't ground the thick black wires it is supposed to connect to in the fuse box area.

yikes, make sure its at the right terminal... and everything else is correct.. hope you are not trying to hook a ground wire because i almost got confused when i was putting it together.
