Hi jdub,

Im a newb when it comes to motor oil and from what i been researching in this section and sticky's ive some what educated my self good insight about motor oil.
I had a look @ Viscosity Of Common Oils - Chart and trying to compare Australian motor oil brands to the chart and came up with little reference. I have read here in the forums that the 7MGTE was designed to use oil in the 10-12cSt range @ 100C.
Now with that reference cSt, i been researching Australian synthetic oil brands in what available for me here, and i found http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online-store/products/Calibre-Fully-Synthetic-Engine-Oil-5W-30-5-5-Litre.aspx?pid=222318&menuFrom=10013#Description

I have chosen this synthetic oil because it was cheap compared to most synthetic oil i have seen and what the normally stock. trying to research further and what little info i could find was :

Statement from their techs indicate that it MEETS:
5W-30
SF
CF
A3/B4
C3

So it's got-to have HTHS >3.5
Best I could get was,
-36C pour point,
V@100C 12.2 cst

soon i later Google and found out it was re-branded and link http://www.caltex.com.au/ProductsAndServices/Pages/ProductDescription.aspx?ID=1800 to this.

So just want to know from you expertise is it ok to run this oil? i have no idea what API Base Stock Group this synthetic oil falls under, i tried to research Australian motor oil standard http://www.racq.com.au/motoring/car..._sheets/understanding_engine_oil_designations. to get a better understanding in whats going on. But im somewhat not confidant with my decision.

cheers
