a couple people asked me about the corolla, i figure i might as well put up a few pics of it. I originally got it to be a daily beater/driver but I liked it too much to leave it alone.
heres a little picture timeline since i bought it.
day I picked it up:
after fresh paint:
original interior clean-up:
then for some reason the engine died outta nowhere. hmm. compression test low, teardown....
turns out it was a blown HG, but instead of fixing it, i thought hell i might as well put a 4age in, the true soul of the ae86. found a 1st gen MR2 high compression bluetop, 7 rib (stronger) block. then went with mikuni 44 carbs instead of fuel injection. also gts tranny and carbon clutch.
painted the bay, prepped everything and all wiring to accept the 4ag.
droppin' it in:
almost done:
as it is now:
Going from the stock 70hp 4AC SOHC motor that runs out of breath at 5k, to the 4AG feels crazy, 130+hp going all the way to 8.5k.
