Does anyone know the actual flow rate of a mk3 pump and at what voltage?
How much hp are they good for?
Everything I find through searching is related to walbros but no one states the specific flow rate of the mkiii pump.
I found a great article that says mk4 pumps are actually better based on flow tests than the walbros on voltages above 12v.
But I still cant find any data on what the mkiii actually flows.
I have mine wired to the battery through a relay.
Running megasquirt.
aem fpr, 750 cc injectors.
sp61gt with 10-15 psi.
recent rebuild, in the process of conservative tuning.
I havent seen any crazy lean outs...
I have no idea how much hp Im even making yet, just want to move forward in a safe way.
Im starting to think walbros are just kind of cheap and not really the best pump to go for.
Will either stay with my mkiii pump or go for a mkiv pump...

I was looking for some info like this:

http://www.stealth316.com/2-fuelpumpguide.htm

Seems like the main draw back to the mkiv pump is all the amps it draws.

Everyone says the stock mkiii pump can only do this or that, still have not seen any real data...

I know someone whos got a couple of walbros hes going to unload, will just do that to get by on the cheap...

its a stock 80"s pump and if you search far enough you can find the flow to be iirc 150lph or less and if you dyno and max it out you will know that its weak for anything less than 300hp. proper fueling is essential for a healthy motor to not blow and should be over way over what you think you are going to make.

Fuel Pump Tests

From the original post to the SOGI list:

Pres.....Walbro.........Cosmo............MKIV..... .....MKIII
26.......60.0 gph.......61.6 gph........60.4 gph.....40.1 gph
30.......58.1 gph.......57.5 gph........55.4 gph.....35.6 gph
40.......51.0 gph.......48.4 gph........47.2 gph.....26.3 gph
50.......43.9 gph.......38.0 gph........37.3 gph.....16.7 gph
60.......37.3 gph.......28.0 gph........28.7 gph.....8.0 gph
70.......32.1 gph.......16.6 gph........16.5 gph.....no test
80.......20.9 gph.......dribbling........drippping.....no test
85.......dribbling.......no test...........no test........no test

It should be noted that the MKIII pump tested was rather old and probably quite tired.....then again, aren't most of them? IIRC the walbro was NOT the high press version... -Taken from MKIIITECH.com and Dr.Jonez

seems the walbro aint so bad according to the data.... which ever you choose to believe. Volts plays a big role in output once pressure begins to increase!
