Mk3 Vs C6

No kill but the old mk3 made me proud today.

Was parked on shoulder of on ramp to interstate making a call on my cell this morning. As soon as im off the the phone , I see a red c6 vette speed by getting on the interstate. Im like what the hell and take off after it for some fun. When I cought up , I pull up beside the vette, was an older guy, probably 50's. I stayed beside him for a few seconds doing about 70-75mph, he did nothing for a while. Just when im about to back off, he kicks it hard. Now I down shift to 4th and nail it to the floor and as soon as boost builds im right back beside him all through 4th and into 5th. Neither of us could move past the other, no ground lost or gained from either car. At 140mph the guy shuts her down and I roll past him and slow down. Im now back in cruise mode, the guy pulls by me with a big smile as we both exchange thumbs up.

My car is not tuned but runing safe afr's across the board. Peak boost recorded by the ebc was 15.7psi. It was cool to be able to hang dead even with such a quick car like the vette. I figure I must be in the 350rwhp range to be able to run with that car.

i'm at 342hp with a SP61GT and I was able to pull away from a C6...good job on that!

what do the c6 make at the wheels stock, I thought it was in the 340-350rwhp range?

wingman, do you make your 342hp @17psi and is your turbo internal gated or the HO external gated version?

would have been nice to beat that vette but I dont need to be running any more boost than that till some issues are fixed with my car, one day though.

That must have been a very good top end pull. A stock C6 makes a supposed 400bhp.

It's internally gated, believe me I was as suprised as anyone when I pulled away from that vette...probably just as suprised as the other driver, but I think I damaged his ego a little bit beating him with something 19 years older :biglaugh:

Thats pretty sweet dude, C6 is a lot faster than the c5 according to all reports, and aren't they 400hp or real close. Also I'm pretty sure they are lighter and the 6 speed probably helps, LOL. Nice run, I'd consider it a kill for the sheer fact ya ran the same and he spent 3 times the dough as you and your running fairly low boost on a 7M equivalent BPU tune.

Yeah 17 is where I made 342...quite honestly I don't know what you would make...I'm still running the stock intercooler so the car is tuned horrendously rich, I figured I'd hold off on it until I got my FFIM setup and go all out.

it's quite funny that we are talking about the C6. i ran one today and killed the living shit out of it. i was not impressed at all. i'm was running 25psi and i blew past it, like the car wasn't even moving.

i love my 67mm turbo

lol, yea a standard C6 is no match for your car (543rwhp). I bet you would give a Z06 a hell of a run ,if not out run one

yea, i'm pretty sure id take a Z06 as well with me running 25psi or so. i have about 350lbs dropped from the car
