let me recap for you, my horrible day with my 90' 7mgte

I have had a starting problem, where the car will sometimes act like the battery is dead, but then 10 min later start right up.(1st problem)

some said i have an alternater problem. so i decided to go to autozone for them to test my alternator, starter ,etc. When my my car showed different starting problems, it didn't want to turn over, finaly started and was idleing rough(2nd problem)

i decided to go to autozone anyways. on my way my a/transmission stoped shifting,(stuck in 2nd). pulled over, put it in park back into drive, the car then shifted fine. (3rd problem)

well when i pulled over i must have gotten a nail in my tire b/c the car started pulling to the right....flat tire!!!! grr anyways put the spare on and decided to head home. put the car in park and idled for couple minutes (let turbo cool) and the car dies. now it won't start it just won't turn over.

so this is my bad day- any advice on the problems i have (oh yah just bought the car like a month ago) starting to think that it is held together by buble gum and paper clips

Bad grounds would be my first guess on the starting problem. So you never actually made it to autozone right? Let's wait and see what the electrical experts say on the other things (I use a R154 so I can't help on the auto).

Sounds like your day is starting out pretty shitty ;).

yah u could say that about 30 more times lol, i think i'm gonna convert to m/t
thanks for your input

I had a similar issue that turned out to be one of the posts on the battery. I think a grounding or other electrical connection would definately be the first places I'd look. Completely clean your battery contacts and ensure a good connection with the posts without corrosion. Same goes for the grounding points on the block and body. Good luck.

yah i just replaced battery,,

sry what do u mean by codes

Did you jumper your Diag port? If you cross over two of the terminals on the Diag plug, your engine light will blink out any codes it has recorded. Granted, codes are only going to be stored for as long as the ECU has power, if you pull a fuse or disconnect the battery for more than a couple of seconds, it will clear any codes. You will need to try to start the vehicle at least once or twice to see if it generates any codes.

That could be any number of things. Make sure the cables are in good shape. If you don't know have somebody that does check. Autozone isn't the place for that.

After the car is running, you can do an output test of your alternator. Any decent shop can do this, at minimal cost. You may or many not have a problem with the charging circuit, but I don't think it is related to intermittent cranking. Unless you are leaving out information.

i decided to go to autozone anyways. on my way my a/transmission stoped shifting,(stuck in 2nd). pulled over, put it in park back into drive, the car then shifted fine. (3rd problem)

There is a cable on the throttle. It needs to be adjusted to a spec in the factory repair manual. You also need to check that the range selector is on correctly and tight. That is on the transmission, not in the car. Put it in neutral, block the tires, crawl under the car and look at it. It will be obvious if it is not lined up. The repair manual will show you the lining point.

This is probably related to the first problem. Make sure the alternator output wire is tight on the alternator, and battery. I have made assumptions here, if you know more, you need to say so.
