Loose Valve Cover Nipple(s)... Sealant?

When doing maintenance, I went to pull off one of the PCV hoses and a valve cover nipple came with it. It fits back in the valve cover, but it's loose and probably isn't the best for the car. Should I use some kind of sealant or are new covers needed?

IIRC the nipples are press fit, so either swelling the old ones or pressing in replacements should be fine... although I don't think you're going to find replacements from Toyota.

Swelling? I have no way of knowing how to go about doing that.

They're in the car right now and it runs fine, but I'll be removing the VC's soon and I kinda want to fix that problem, too. I might just grab some sealant and see what I can do.

There's a proper term for it, but I don't remember what it was. There are tools for stretching the wall of a pipe outward, even small hand tools for little pipes. You may be able to do it real cheap though. I'd try getting a bolt with a beefy shaft, two metal spacers a bit narrower than the pipe's ID, a piece of dowel of the same ID, and a nut.... if you've followed this far and wish for me to go on I'll explain the rest. Otherwise I'll leave you with the sealant and the suggestion that perhaps threading the valve covers for pipe fittings or threaded nipples might work better. ;)

Hehe, I had to look it up. Didn't sound quite right, but I was thinking swage. Thanks!
