lifter knocking

anybody have any estiments on how much it would cost for me to change my lifters just on the exhaust side??? also...how long it would take... cuz im tired of listening to it...its pretty bad... any help or suggestions would be appriciated... thanks... jc

The 7M is shim over buckets...the TSRM calls them valve lifters. The lifters should not need replacement...shims as required to meet spec. Here's how to check valve clearance:

Suggest you check cam bearing clearance as well:

BTW - the lifters usually make a tapping sound at half the the engine speed if the clearances are off. If the sound is more of a knock at a 1:1 with engine rpm, you've got bigger problems ;)
