I've experienced both knocks!

First I had actualy rod knock, now I have the tricky exhaust leak that causes a knock sound.

How can I do about finding the leak? It is louder on the passenger side.

its probably your exhaust manifold...odds are if you have left it long enough you will have soot on around where it is leaking...my manifold leaks near the front.

Anyway i would start there as it is a very common issue. also make sure your down pipe is tight and everything(elbow if you have one). best way to find it is to turn your car on and listen around...if its cooler out you may be able to see it too.

Second on the exhaust mani leaking, most likely in the back half...

Brought it up on the hoist and listened around and couldn't find exactly, but it definitly sounds like the manifold. Dang

What you can do is get u a piece of pipe, like PVC or something, hold it up to your ear and probe around with it. It can help you pinpoint the leak.
