Is this rod knock?

i am hearing a knocking sound just below 2k rpm at a cruisin speed. it sounds like: Dum..Dum..Dum..Dum (hope that helps....lol)

i'm afraid this is really bad. somebody please tell me everything will be ok.

Doesnt really help, check your oil immediately!
If you could get a video that would help.

Use a long screwdriver and put it against your ear, touch the other end against the valve covers, oil pan, probe around figure out where the sound is coming from.

Back on topic though, i think you can also pull individual spark plug wires too, if the knocking stops, thats your cylinder

Someone more knowledgable can feel free to step in and correct me

From what i recall that's right Jag.

umm, don't pull the plug wires...you'll get shocked (ask me how I know ). Just try pulling the injector plugs, and if the sound goes away, then it is likely rod knock.

You have to d/c the plug wires, just not while it's running if you don't like being shocked.
He can get to all the spark plug wires without taking anything off.

When i had rodnock it was more of a "tack tack tack tack tack" sound heard all through the rpm range
