Well, after rescuing my FREE MK3 and towing it to a safe place where I can at least access what it needs, I need to take the ignition switch out to have a key made...Or, would it be easier to do the hatch lock or Glove box lock ???? The IGN was in the ACC position when it was abandoned and the key was missing. My son accidentally turned it to ''lock''.. now I can't do anything with it until I get a key made. Has anyone ever had to do this? what was the easiest lock to remove to get a good key made. I'll post mega fotos tomorrow.

Remove the passenger side lock - look on the side of the cylinder, there will be a code (one letter followed by 4 numbers). Take this code to the dealer.
They can punch a new key for you in less then 5 mins. Cost: about $7 (for the key blank).
