OK I have a 1988 turbo supra, is the 1jz gonna be more work than it is worth? right now i can get a built 7mgte for about 3 grand shipped, and install it myself is the 1jz gonna be near there? and what extras would i need to complete the swap? and if i decided to do it would anyone be willing to come to CT and help me out on the swap the beer is on me :biglaugh:

ok i will give it to u straight and simple.
if u have time,patience and money. do the 1j swap. if u dont go with a built 7m.u might be able to do a 1j for 3gs but urgoing to have to be fruggle with where u get the engine and harness. extras would be elec.fan,about 12" of hydrolic hose,89 subframe(or 88 custom 1j engine brackets)mk4 throttle cable,and if ur going to have to have time to do the harness or send it out for someone else.

SO what your trying to tell me is that for me personally i will do the built 7mgte because i dont have the time or the knowledge for the 1jz. i have the money thats about it

no i am saying if u have time and money u can always learn about the 1j on how to put it in. if u are not in a rush to have a car, then it would be best because u can take ur time puttin git in and troubleshooting it if u mess up on the wiring.

if you dont have the knowledge to build up a 1jz, chances are you dont have the knowledge to build a 7m either.

Just the wiring will be tricky. Guess what? some one is selling the harnes (plug and play) at parts 4 sale thread. If you have r154 chasis you'll be fine just get the front clip.
