fuel rail flow

This is kind of a dumb question but I'm having troubles getting my 2jz to turn over and there is a sound coming from the fuel rail so I'm wondering, does the stock fuel rail on the 2jz flow from the front to the back or from the back to the front? I would just like to verify that I have my fuel lines connected correctly. Since I'm not the one who pulled the engine I'm not sure which way it goes. Thanks for any help provided.

the fuel comes in from the firewall side and exits from the timing belt side. and you should definitely get an aftermarket dual feed rail if youre planning on getting big injectors

I also would like to know the maximum size of injectors for the 2j/1jz fuel rail. Can we use larger then 550cc? I was told that 550cc was the max before needing to change to a larger fuel rail.

You can use any size injector you want, but the rail is going to limit how much you'll be able to use them efficiently due to the stock stingle in/out. You can modify the rail for dual in single out, and although I've never tried it you may be able to use a T fitting and not modify the rail at all.

The problem is the last injector (#1 on stock in/out) doesn't get enough fuel past 550whp usually. It's possible to go higher with dual pumps, but I wouldn't take it too far. Having another feed to the other side of the rail would fix this in the perfect world I live in that also has no mosquitoes.

I don't really like my top feed rail. Such a pain in the ASS to keep the injector guides in place while you're trying to put the injectors in and keeping the seals from falling off... After swapping the rail/injectors out four different times, it doesn't get easier.

I have no plans to go beyond 550whp. I was asking about the size of the injectors. For 550whp, you should be running about 680cc injectors. That is exactly what i would like to run, but i dont know of any side feed 680s that would fit. Can the stock fuel rail go beyond the 550cc injectors and work properly?

you injector size should be equal to your horsepower. if you put bigger injector it wont make a difference. in fact you might lose power taking this path.

appx, but not exact. You need to run a fuel injector calculation. I did them last year in class. A lot of people say they are your hp, but it isnt true. The calculations for 550rwhp is about 630 hp and you should be using about 650cc injectors to safely flow for that much. I have seen a few guys get 550rwhp out of 550cc injectors, but you are running them beyond their recommended flow ratings.

Then don't go beyond 550whp.

I answered your question in my first post. I don't care what size injectors you "should" be running either. Have fun looking for them.

I'll answer your last question again. Yes.
