i am building a fuel system for my car and was wondering what kind of filters people are running. i am going to be using a inline pump with a pre filter and after pump filter. i have been looking around and seems like most nice filters are atleast 50-100$. anyone have a decent setup on a budget?

its flows well too. If i were you i'd just use two in parrallel if you're lookin to push LOTS of fuel through the system. (given you're upgrading the rest of the lines....otherwise its useless)

which inline pump?? im using an a1000 with an aeromotive filter screwed directly into pump inlet. u dont need a filter after the pump. the filter (100micron) was $100 but when it gets old u just replace the insert which is a lot cheaper.

power goals are around 500whp. I am putting a 7m into a foxbody mustang, using 1/2in aluminum hardline for feed, and 3/8in return. with an inline holly 480 pph pump. seems everywhere i read most people recomend two filters one before and after pump. 100micron before and 10 micron after. I am on a budget and cannot really afford two 100$ filters. just curious what setups people are using other than factory stuff.

i thought th same thing. but when i went to jegs to buy the fuel stuff, they said a single 100micron before is enough. a lot of others r running same setup without issue. is that aluminum line rated for fuel injection?

i would check into that. i almost bought line just like that from jegs, same price too, but then i saw the package it came in said not for use with fuel injection. i ended up going to push-lock which works great!

i cany upload pics man, my computer hates me. the pushlock stuff is alot cheaper and easier to use. better than that aluminum junk in my opinion. i just bought 20feet of 1/2in and 3/8in plus the fittings. to make it easier, i put the filter right in the inlet of the pump, made a bracket and welded it near the diff.

plan on at least $5 per fitting. also, DONT buy jegs brand push loc fittings! they dont fit the hose right. buy russell. they might be $1 more but worth the hassle free install. also buy the cushion clamps and make sure the hose is not rubbing on anything

JEGS Push-Loc Hose

Nitrile covered, high tensile synthetic braid reinforced Push-Loc hose offers the maximum in flexibility, weight savings and ease of installation. Pressure rated to 250 PSI. Compatible with all synthetic lubricants, oils and coolants. Must be used with Push-Loc or Twist-Lok style hose ends. Not for use on brake, gasoline, nitrous or power steering systems. Available in Black, Red, Blue, Yellow and Grey and a variety of lengths & diameters for virtually any color and application requirement. Made in USA.

I would be worried about using that, as it specifically states not for use with gasoline.

If you want to use aluminum line, use one specifically marketed for fuel line.

I always recommend stainless braided line for everything. I prefer to use Earls or Aeroquip but Jegs also has there own brand.

the push loc hose cim using is for gasoline- nhra legal- 300psi rated. maybe i posted wrong link. but its specifically for fuel. i know of a couple people using it. its easier and cheaper than braided. only turnoffs- it doesnt look as nice and u have to make sure its not rubbing on any thing.
look on jegs web site or catalog (or summit) and u will see it
