Hey...

I am trying to start my car on a new setup and I am having some difficulty.

walbro fuel pump
-6an feed line from tank to rail
earls fuel filter
680cc injectors
aeromotive regulator with SS line to stock return line

At first the pump wasnt working at all, so I wired it to 12V right from the battery as well as a new ground. Once the 12V is connected I can hear the pump whinning so it is working but no matter what I set the adjustment screw on the regulator to, I get 0psi pressure. This is with the car off obviously since I can't start it with 0psi. All parts are brand new or have less than 5 hours of use from an old setup at which time everything worked.

For the feed and return lines, I have a single feed line going right from the pump into the rail where the dampener used to be, and the return line from the fuel rail into the side of the regulator and then exits out the bottom of the regulator.

Any help is appreciated.

ok what?

-You hardwired your pump directly to a 12v right.

-your not reading any pressure on the AFPR?

-The pump itself is doing something so you have a noise.

What are you using to read fuel pressure? Is it the guage directly on the AFPR? Do you still have the stock J-tube?

try disconnecting the line going to the fuel rail and run it into a jug or something and repeat this. Just to see if your pump is actually pumping or if its just making noise in your tank.

If yes is anything coming back out of the return line?

If your not getting any fuel pressure to the lines your problem is inside your tank assuming fuel is actually making it past the fuel filter. What was the condition of the rubber hose connected to the top of the pump? any chance you just blew it off w/ the fuel pressure?

Also are you sure you have it wired + to + and - to -? you sure the pump is pumping backwards? have you checked for power in the plastic clips above your gas tank. Remember it wont run power to it until your actually cranking.

it has direct power right off the battery for testing purposes so as soon as the wire touches the terminals the pump turns on.

Polarity is correct inside the tank as it worked before without the AFPR.

No J-tube.

Gauge is on the AFPR itself. With the pump off, the needle on the gauge sits below zero, with the pump on the needle rises to the zero mark on the gauge so something i moving through the rail...

I am going to check the fuel filter.

Brand new from Driftomotion...

With the pump off the needle sits below the zero mark on the gauge. With the pump on the needle moves up a bit to sit right at zero.

I am going to check the lines at the tank and see if that helps.

I disconnected the feed line before the fuel filter (my filter is in the engine bay) and turned the pump on with the line going into a fuel can. The fuel flows out like a full pressure garden hose.

I opened up the fuel filter and it had some debris in it so I soaked all the parts in a bucket of gasoline for a couple hours.

I put the filter back on and then stuck the line with the filter into the gas can and turned the pump on, pressure was the same as it was without the filter. I even tried this with the filter element removed from the fuel filter and still there was the same pressure coming out, which was alot of fuel.

I checked the return line/evap lines at the tank side and they are hooked up correctly.

I am going to try swapping the gauge today and if that doesnt help it, the regulator.

Otherwise the pump is possible weak? It was previously used for less than 100kms with no issues but it has sat dorment for a year in a basically empty fuel tank. Is it possible for corrosion to have developed on the power/ground connections in the tank?

The pump when it was put in the tank over a year ago:
