Front suspension

im having a problem with the front suspension of my 88 supra.....whenever i turn the wheel left or right more so on the left hand side, the suspension makes a loud screeching sound and fights its way back center or feels as if the powersteering has failed....wanted to know if this sounded like my rack and pinion gone bad or am i in need of an alignment?

Obvious question, did you check PS fluid level? If it's low, add and bleed the system. If it still does it, it may be the PS pump or the simple fix, belt needs replaced or tightened. Very seldom there's a problem with the rack.

sounds like there is air in the system on that side, bleed and replace the fluid...

(TSRM has the directions for this...)

my PS fluid is full but i will bleed it and check for air in the system

i have notice this as well with many supras never choudl really point out the issue cheaked ball joints ect still mislty to me ot this day

kinda like toyotsa truck tortion bars

at full lock you might get some noise, but it's usually the steering locks going metal to metal (since the small caps have long since worn away)

Replace fluid and bleed, but yeah. Fluid is ATF, by the way.

brand new rack from yota on person car used to know did it as well and every thing was fine on his car fully ??????????????

on another note i got my 92 and it had ps fulid in it and umm it did not fuck up my pump or make any nois ei was shocked

again stated above do not run ps fuild the seal's will die

i believe im going to replace the stock PS line with the diftmotion PS line

well after 3 stumped days i finally figured out what was wrong with power steer and y the car was making a loud clicking noise.....

my dumb ass forgot to tighten the swing arm bolt on the power steering pump so the belt was loose as hell.....after all that work just a loose belt i feel like a idiot....lol...anyway u live and learn
