Fight is on Cinco de Mayo (May 5)
Floyd has never lost a fight, best pound for pound fighter. Cocky Motha F***** he like to talk to the announcers when he's fighting, but don't get me wrong he is probably one of the Best boxer's out there. Extremely quick, balanced fighter, great foot work, good chin, good defense. Pretty much has everything you want in a boxer
Then there is Golden Boy Oscar.
Not as fast as mayweather, but still quick , Better combo hits than Maywether, lots of experience, Left hook is a killer, Taller with a long reach.
Oscar's winning strategy IMO:
-Box from the outside(USE YOUR JAB)
-Use Height and reach to your advantage
-Find a way Inside and hurt him with combo's, then get out quickly
-Lots of body shots
-Look for the LEFT HOOK!!
Mayweather's winning strategy IMO:
-Overpower him!!
-Find a way INSIDE
-UPPER CUTS and Straights combo's
-Make Oscar fight your fight, don't fight his
-Use SPEED/AGILITY to your advantage
im going for Oscar, just because he is a slight underdog and becuase he is the only one out there who has the potential to give him a good fight.
What makes this fight more interested is that Oscar actually promotes Mayweather in his fights. Oscar is not only a boxer, but a buisnessman; he owns Gold Boy Promotions. Another thing is that Oscar has gotten a lot of his training from Mayweather's father. In the upcoming fight Mayeather's dad will not be training his son or Oscar. Oscar's coach will be Freddy Roach and Mayweather's coach will be his Uncle who has been training him for the past couple of years.
This will be the biggest fight of 2007.
Not only will it be big, but the sport is depending on this fight to be successful meaning a good fight and not one sided. The sport has been slowly decreasing in fans and buisness mainly because there hasn't been any huge fights. Dont get me wrong there have been plenty of other fights that have been good, but no where as good as Ali or Frazier, Riddick Bow vs Holyfield, etc etc. where these fights changed the boxing world and opened up more boxing gyms.
Commentators said i hope they are not just fighting for themselves and MONEY, but the future of upcoming Boxers and the buisness. They want them to fight there fight, but they need to make it exciting in a way to catch more viewers eyes on boxing. They dont want to see a 2-3 round TKO or K.O. We need to see a last round TKO/KO or Split Decision. Hopefully they fight Best out of 3, they will only do so if the money is right or if the fight was close.
I seriously can't wait for this fight!!
