Fan shrouds by year?

So, I need a fan shroud. Whats the difference between the years? I have an 87, but they all look similar to me.. I can get one off a 89 for a good price, but want to make sure it fits and it would have to be shipped...

Also, if it matters, I have the plastic fan running off that small belt, and an electric fan closer to the passenger side of the car. I need the big one, lol. The electric one has mesh as the guard.

Only difference that I know of is the pre-89 has one aux fan and the 89+ has 2 aux fans. The shrouds are designed accordingly.

So basically, a 89+ shroud would fit fine on a pre-89? Just would have a spot fo an extra Aux. fan which pre-89's dont have?

As far as I know, yes. I'm pretty sure the mounting is the same.

I think the aux fan is just for the a/c condenser.

I dumped both when I went to dual electrics.

The mounting tabs are the same so yes it will work and you can get the 89 -92 a/c fans to match but the 86.5-88 a/c fan is fine as well. I have seen and had both types of fan shrouds and what do you mean by "I have the plastic fan running off that small belt"?

lol I wasn't sure what the actual name was. the fins are plastic and that fan runs off the small belt that also runs your power steering punp and other things. I was giving a description.

so a 89+ fan shroud will mount fne on my pre-89?
