False Alarms

My factory alarm has just recently started to give false alarms.

When I go outside to turn the key in the lock, it shuts off the alarm and then resets just like it's supposed to, but every hour to 12 hours I hear the alarm going off.

I looked at the TSRM trouble shoot for the theft deterrent system, but it doesn't address this problem.

I'm thinking maybe one of the sensors in the doors or hood or hatch is messed up. Also, this only seems to happen when it's wet outside or real foggy.

Any suggestions?

Sounds like you might have some exposed wires or pins in a connector...the water is acting like a conductor between the exposed materials and tripping your alarm...at least, that's what it sounds like to me. As for which sensor, not sure.

I don't know whether the fact that it has only done it when it is kinda wet out is a coincidence or not since it's only been happening for a few days.

Anyone here ever get false alarms and traced the problem?

I've checked all the connections at the doors, hatch and hood, run continuity tests on all the wires...everything checks out.

I got another "brain" for the alarm (the blue box under the dash) and I'm going to swap it and see if it works.

Any imput would be great. I know I'm not the only one who ever suffered alarm malfunctions.
