Ok guys... my baby is driving me insane. I've got some weird-ass electrical problems with the car that none of the shops around me seem to want to even try to diagnose. For example, when I shut the car off, the dash lights and blower all stay on (as if the key was in the "on" position) and kill the battery unless I disconnect it when I park. Today, my alarm armed itself and then went off while I was driving through town on my way back to work from lunch.
I thought it was an issue with the ignition switch and had it replaced last week (along with a new valve cover gasket, but that's another story)... when I got the car back from the shop, I found that now my temperature gauge doesn't work and I've got intermittent heat - when I took it back to the shop, they "fixed" it by bypassing my heater control valve :3d_frown: and never tried to diagnose the gauge issue. Needless to say those idiots aren't getting any more business from me - I'm afraid of what they'll screw up next trying to fix things...
Soooooo.... does anyone know of any reasonable/reputable shops in the western NY area that can handle working on a Supra and diagnosing electrical problems? I really don't want to take it to the local stealership if I can avoid it (they're charging $100/hour nowadays! I'm not cheap, but that's a little steep when most shops around here charge between $45 - $65/hour)... For that matter if there's anyone on here within 100-150 miles of 14712 that might be willing to at least take a look at it, I'd be more than happy to compensate you for your time...
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
