Do the stock gauges go out often?

Hello,

I have an 87 turbo and the Boost, oil pressure and fuel gauges do not work.

It has a JDM engine, so maybe the oil pressure sender would be different?

As far as the fuel gauge goes, the "Low Fuel" light works, but the needle for the gauge is always at the empty mark. I tried the SOGI tip to bend the arm to make sure it has contact throughout the full to empty range and it does.

The boost gauge will just sit at "0" when the car is turned on and whether boosting or not.

My dad's friend is a toyota mechanic, and I had him take a look at it, and he's not sure what to think of it. He told me to buy a new gauge cluster and try that out. But the water temp, speed, and tach all work fine.

Any insight from anyone at all?

Thanks for any help!

The oil pressure sender is different.

On my 87 with a import 7M-GE it fried the oil pressure gauge, so i just did a quick swap, and swapepd to a US oil pressure sender, and voila, it works.
