Don't remember what it cost, maybe $40? I wasn't really worried about smog, just fuel mileage, and like to keep me car running at its best. More than just an o2 sensor can fail you. EGR system malfunction, bad catalytic converter, even the need for a tune-up.

Copy the test sheet from the inspection place, and post it up.

Yeah, your test results show a bad EGR system. It's certainly possible every component in it isn't working but I seriously doubt it. Unless you removed them it appears you're about to be taken for a ride.

i didnt take anything out..i got this car about 5 months ago..and before i got it the guy i bought it from smogged it and passed...

I'd test each component first. See the service manual. I doubt they're all bad. Could even be they work but the head or other EGR passages are clogged. In fact, since the car passed a few months back that's could well be the cause.

Used VSV and modulators would probably be OK but the EGR valve itself is a crap shoot. I've never seen one that didn't need to be cleaned. They all leak at the pintle shaft seal too. Just my two cents as a former certified emissions guy...

Over the pond
http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/techtips.aspx Way to check probably described here.

But, mind if I threadjack? :D I almost didn't pass the test, my lambda was kinda between pass and no pass :) the limit is about 1 and my car had also something about 1. We get tested at 2500 rpm. I don't know the exact numbers, cause we don't get any sheets anymore with :(
Can I get some help from this info?
