heres the situation: Had some work done at a local shop. They mentioned that while doing front end work they noticed one of my front coilovers was blown. So its several months later and i have since upgraded my suspension. I disassembled the old coilovers down to just the strut to diagnose the problem. So far there is no oil leaking from anywhere on any of the coilovers, when i apply my full body weight to any of the struts(without the springs) they depress slowly and then slowly extend back out. All the bushings are in good shape. Are there any other tests or things i should be looking for to verify that at least one of the coilovers is toast?

when you push on the corner of the car, does it feel firm?
can you bounce the car?

when you push on the corner of a car it should feel firm, but should push down, when you release it should come back up and not bounce,

if you can bounce the car the struts are toast,

what happens is the valves inside the shock become stuck or worn, and allow the oil to bypass the valve to fast, and then you pretty much just have a spring at the corner.

i guess a good strut would take some weight to push it down and return slowly. ??

strut sounds fine... only thing I can think of is that you're laking brake fluid on that side so they saw a wet spot and thought blown coilover...
