The other week, I noticed my rear tires were worn very unevenly. Since then, I have noticed that my car's stance looks a little crooked. So yesterday I decided to walk around the car and check the gaps between each tire and the top of the outside wheel well. Sure enough, my left rear side is about 1/2 to 2/3 of an inch lower than the right rear side.
About a year ago, I installed new Eibach springs and Bilstein shocks (at the lowest setting), so 2/3 of an inch is a huge difference. I suspected that maybe one of the shocks was blown, but when I jacked up the wheel assembly, each side required an equal amount of force. Also, both of the springs are seated correctly at the bottom on the shock perches. Now, I don't know what else to check or how to check it. Nor do I even remember which side appears to be the proper height.
The only unusual thing I noticed was that the left dust boot started to fall apart when I had my hand up there, but I can't see how that would effect the height.
Where should I be looking, and what should I be looking for?
