Hello Everyone, I am pleased to have my first post at SupraMania.
I like the content on this forum very much, and I figure I won't find better information on these engines anywhere else.
Lets make the long story short:
I am replacing the head gasket on my 7mge for the second time. It blew a second time because I didn't resurface the head (should have listened).
Anyway, I noticed on my old head gasket that there was a bulge upwards INTO the oil channel. One side of the gasket is open directly around the oil channel, and the other side is closed.
Looking at many pictures of 7MGE head gaskets, it seems all of them have the same one hole for the oil channels.
Here is a picture that might assist in providing a visual perspective:
Let me know if this is an issue or is done by design.
P.S. The machine shop took .008 off of the head, major warpage.
