Corolla Question

I found an 89 corolla gts for $200 with a blown motor and a supercharged mr2 4a-gze for $200 as well. First off would the 4a-gze fit in the corolla? i know the gts uses the 4a-ge engine. and second would it be worth the time and money spent?

Given that the MR2 had a midship design the only way I see that working is first: a different tranny would probably have to be utilized. Also the engine mounts have to be fabbed as well. Dont quote me on that though... I say pick em up though, Supercharged MR2's are FTW!

MR2 and AE92 trannies are basically the same setup, with different linkage. Although the MR2 SC did use a beefier transmission than the N/A and AE92. Tranny linkage is different, tranny can be made to work rather easily, or use the GT-S tranny, either way it'll fit pretty easily.

If you do go with the SC tranny (E51) vs the N/A tranny (C52) you'll probably need the mounts, etc from an AE92 GT-Z (Japanese SC'ed AE92).

I'd suggest throwing the 4A-GZE in there with the 4A-GE tranny, it should hold up.
