what would make my car hard to start when its cold im new to this style engine used to old american stuff once its been started it starts right away is there other stuff it could be besides the cold start injector the motor only has 40 on it and is still stock for now thanks for any help

sounds like it could use a nice tune up... hard to start engines can be a combonation of many things... cold start injectors... fuel or air delivery, timing... with only 40,000 on it it should be fairly simple to tackle.. just go at it one step at a time... do a full service while at it, oil filter and oil change, spark plug and plug wires changed, new air filter, and maybee clean out the injectors..

also pick up a TSRM (toyota service repair manual) they arent very expensive and are a world of help.

we did the tune up wnd set everything when we droped in the motor but didnt change any sensors or the cold start injector at the time so i dont know what all affects its startability i have to crank it alt least twice when its cold
