I bought a new clutch recently, one of the ones with kevlar on the surface. When it arrived, I inspected everything and found that the kevlar surface on the clutch disc was peeled up about a 1/4 inch on the edge of the disc. The peel was about an inch long. It was easy to tell that it did not happen in shipping too.
Anyway, here's my problem. The company that sold it to me said they'd refinish it for me if I sent it in to them. I feel like they owe me a new one or a refund, not a refinished one, since I paid well over $400 for an item they described as "new." I also feel that since I'm the customer and they are the ones making money off me, it should be them that have to deal with the hassle, not me. But I don't know much about this sort of thing, so I was wondering what you guys think. Is a refinished one just as good as a new one? Should I quit my bitchin and send it in, or should I demand they deliver on what they promised?
Thanks for the help.
