Yes. Swapping the guage clusters is very easy accually.

Remove all the trim inside and screws and such. Then just pop it out. Remove all the connections from the rear of the cluster and the seedo cable should jsut slide out.

you may have issues with the speedo being off.... my speedo reads about 90mph when i cruise at 75.

86.5-88 speedo goes up to 140mph, 89+ goes up to 160mph... if you have an automatic tranny, there is a gear in the tranny that is matched to the speedo, so you might have to change that gear or recalibrate the speedo somehow.

i'm still trying to figure it out myself... i have an 88 turbo, got a JDM auto tranny (who knows what it is), and my gauge cluster is off so i'm assuming my tranny is 89+ ... i might try and swap in a 89+ cluster to see if it makes a difference.

Pre-89 speedo goes to 150mph, 89+ goes to 160mph, and are both calibrated the same. Swapping an 89+ speedo into a pre-89 car will not result in any error. They are both calibrated to the same spec.

really jeff?? hmmmm maybe its my auto tranny gear then, i dunno, it's really annoying. i know you can calibrate it based on adjusting the speedo from the back, but that seems to be a real pain in the ass. ah well i'll figure it out one of these days :)

So there is no problem between the two, they can interchange with no difference in speed readings?
