I have a air leak between the EGR and lower intake manifold. I know i do because i can hear it , it beeps and made sure with a stethoscope. Anyways my question is how come when i start her up it doesnt beep ONLY when i reach around 1500rpms or so then the beep stays forever even at idle? Also why doesnt it affect my idle?

Ohhh i see its because at start up the coolant temp is below 57c so the egr is closed along with the vsv. I knew that the egr opened and closed but thats all. I havent had time to read up or even work on my car its just been sitting there :(.i have been really busy.

Redacted per Title 18 USC Section 798
The EGR doesn't work (what stops it from working)

1) when the engine is cold (vsv)

2) at idle (ported vacuum)

3 above about 4300 rpm (vsv)

That said I r cornfuzed about how you can have a leak (one that beeps no less) between two parts that aren't connected...

Okay i got that .EGR valve i mean ... Anyways i took apart everything and guess what ? Again a cracked/broken egr valve this is the second time. Turns out it cracked from where it bolts on and fell off the lower intake manifold and wasnt even bolted on. I remember i had trouble bolting on the egr valve the first time. it wouldnt reach and bolt on right. Anyways i think im going to get a brand new one. Better than getting a 20 Year old one and make sure everything bolts on right

Hopefully i dont need a new cat :( maybe a clogged cat is causing excessive back pressure making my egr valve break? But im not losing performance or doesnt sputter when accelerating .
