Getting home today i notice my brake lights wont turn off, I checked the fues and it's fine and the light indicator on the dash is not on. I dont know what the problem could be?
On the brake pedal, where the switch contacts it, there is a rubber plug. If it is worn it will not allow the switch to go open. If that is the problem, tape a penny to the plug to get brake lights operational and get one from the dealership.
You can also put a small bolt through the hole with a nut on the other side, so the head of the bolt contacts the switch. Never have to worry about the rubber wearing out again.
i just had this same thing happen to me last week. it shouldn't be that hard to fix. i had a spare plastic body plug laying around i just stuck in the hole to make contact with the switch. i replaced it with a bolt later on. no worries. good luck!
