all the hoses and lines are the originals and they're showing they're age by cracking and splitting here and there.

I'd like some info on braided hoses to replace the ones on my car. Do they come in kits or is it one of those things where you buy the equipment and then cut your own lengths? I saw one on driftmotion. I think it was a clutch line or something. I was wondering if I could get some for all the lines in my 88 Supra that could use them. Could anyone suggest some good brands please?

Also vacuum lines, Do they sell replacement kits with all the right hoses at the right lengths? Where can I go to get the right hoses at the right sizes?

I know these questions are probably a pain in the butt to answer so thanks for your time.

You can buy supplies and make your own braided hoses if you want. Another alternative is to call Aaron @ driftmotion with measurements for the lines you want made and ask him if he'd be willing to make them for you.

Hose techniques sells a silicone vacuum hose set for an MKIII, but most autoparts stores will have bulk vac lines in multiple sizes. That is much cheaper/easier and just as effective.

why do people use the braided ones then? I mean besides the bling factor? Are they not the best you can get? I just wanna get the best stuff for my car that I can cos I hate halfway (half ass) parts.

Braided lines won't expand as much under pressure but usually it only makes a difference on brakes and clutch which are used often and sometimes harshly. That said be expected to change them more often then just silicone or rubber ones because dirt and debris can get caught in the braid and wear on the line. Average accepted replacement time is every two years atleast I hear most do every year for peace of mind.

I buy my vaccuum lines from the dealer, as the sizes on our cars are metric and the lines from the dealer fit tight while the ones from a parts store need zip ties...

My dealer doesn't rip me off, it's the same price (or they just give it to me)

Just get the toyota hoses, the only ones I replaced with silicone where the 90* bends at the back and front of the block.
