well I just had a 7mgte built for my 89 supra, problem is I think the head gasket might be leaking but I hope not. The motor now has 800 miles on it, today when I started it, I noticed a white steam coming out the tail pipe. Didnt think much of it since it was morning and figured it was just water in pipe. Later in the day after driving the car and starting it again, It let out a good bit of white smoke. After this im starting to worry, I go home and check radiator, its a little low. Dont have over flow bottle due to bigger intercooler so I used a coke bottle for one just to see what was going on. After filling radiator and hooking up coke bottle to over flow hose, I took it for a drive. after driving I check under hood, coolant is being pushed into the coke bottle(shit:icon_evil ).
I do the usual stuff like try and get any air pockets out of cooling system by runing car with out radiator cap for about 15minutes with heat on, front of car up hill. It still pushes coolant into the bottle. Checked oil, looked good, changed oil, didnt seem to be any coolant in it. new oil still looks great, very clear. I then did a compression test, lowest cylinder reading was 165, highest was 185 and the other four 170-175. Dont know how accurate my compression test was, only let motor turn over five times per cylinder, should have been 7 as I later learned.
This motor has resurfaced block and head, metal headgasket with arp bolts. only has 800 miles on it, never been taken over 3000rpm or 2-3 pounds of boost. Any other ideas besides BHG, I hope to hear something that gives me hope.
