auto tranny question

How come some auto trannys heve a speedo cable that gooes to the ecu and some have the kind that runs behind the dash and whats the difference between the two becuase I've recently did a na to turbo swap still with auto tranny but the tranny that came with the turbo motor had the cable leading to the ecu where as before my old tranny had the speedo running behind my dash mabye this can answer my cars shifting proble and mabye the reason I can't find this last dash plug thanks for yalls help in advance

JDM motor?
Driver side is on the right...where our ECU is ;)

You need a USDM cable I'll bet...and yes, the #1 speed sensor is in the speedo...and yes, it will affect an auto's shift.

Yeah it's a jdm so can I just take the speedo off my old tranny that runs behind the dash and it should work and if I didn't switch my dash to a turbo dash does that mean it wont work or it just wont have a boost guage thanks for the info it's actually a big relief knowing it's something I can change within 30min's thanks again

You'll need a turbo tach...make sure you have an USDM oil pressure sender on the block too. The JDM sender can fry your gauge.

Alright that might be the reason when I put the key in the on position the oil presure meter jumps al the way off the scale until I crank it and it drops backs thanks for the info youve been a great help
