i was trying to retighten my arp studs and was having trouble finding a socket that would fit. i know its a 14mm star socket. but all the 14mm star sockets i have tried have been too wide to get down to the nut. any know a specific brand that works.

Are you using a 1/2" drive or 3/8" drive? Most 3/8" drive sockets fit, IIRC. Otherwise have a machine shop grind down the wall on an an impact socket.
Try getting a Craftsman 14mm 12 point 3/8" drive socket from sears; it has to be all three of these things.
1/2" drive sockets don't fit that I know of.
Then you use a 3/8" to 1/2" drive adapter and your ( probably ) 1/2" drive torque wrench.
