Ive priviously posted my prob on oil burning and most responed with valve seals... but heres the thing.. leaky valve seals burning half a liter in just one night?! I topped her up last night, right at the F on the dipstick. Drove maybe about 50 kms last night, 2 kms to work this morning.. I got off work let it idle for a good 15 mins (got distracted with another car and forgot it was running), drove around my back lot at work and watched my fresh oil just burn off (blue smoke) Once i got it all out, she runs clean. I get home check oil and she is down half a litre.. Could my valve seals be THAT bad that it burns half a liter? or could I have more probs.. Turbo seals are fine.

Piston rings maybe? or would i constantly be burning oil?

Your car burns oil as a normal part of 4 stroke internal combustion. I don't see half a liter in 50km's though. That is 31 miles for the US crowd.

You might have an external leak also. Or you had dilution for repeated short trips, making your dipstick read higher than what it really is. In 30 miles, the additives in oil will burn off the diluting contaminates, making it look like you lost a lot of oil.

Usually, valve stem seals only smoke for a few minutes at start up. Unless you have a huge leak, but then your exhaust would look like an RTD at all times.
