Anybody ever been deployed to Ramadi? Just trying to see what's going on there, I just got a confirmation call the yesterday while at work telling me that I've been tagged for mobilization. 3 months training and 9 months boots-on-the-ground, still waiting for my orders to be processed. :aigo: What can I expect being the junior Corpsman(medic for all you non-Navy/Marine folks) there and just how messed up is it there?

DAMNIT! This puts my whole project on hold, new paintjob just sitting there for a whole year =( I might just work on something with a shop to get my car done for my while i'm gone :D

My good friend in the Marines was stationed there about 1 1/2 years ago.
He hated every minute of it.
Good luck.

I got some friends in Al Asad right now, but they're strictly navy, they have internet and a/c and crap over there LOL. But yeah, what can a FMF Corpsman expect (yes... i'm the jr corpsman)

Depends on what your mission is going to be. From my experience, you can expect to roll out with infantry guys when they go out on a mission. Most of the time you'll be a dismount, and other times you may be ordered to be the gunner in a hmmwv (hummer) by some dumbass sergeant, or officer. Don't worry too much though, you'll most likely provide medical treatment on the FOB and not even leave the wire.
