at idle it outputs 11.85 vdc with my lights on. i give it some throttle and it goes back to around 14. normal? my lights dim when i slow to a stop also. any input?

Slight dimming at idle is normal. Even with a high output alt that can happen. I'm not sure the 11.85 is so normal, but everything else seems to be fine on your end?
