AFM repair?

Mine works for the moment, but the connector section is no longer attached to the body. The PO had siliconed it together, but it had long since detached from the body and was just hanging there.

I was thinking JB weld to hold the pieces together, then hi-temp silicone to seal it against moisture. Thoughts or recommendations on whether that will work or should I go another route? I know this can't be the first AFM to seperate like this and figured someone knows the best way to deal with it.

Thanks...

I would test it to make sure the electronics are still good. Epoxy would be the best bet.

I really hope you didn't use a spray carb/MAF cleaner on it...the chemicals haze the mirror inside, effectively trashing the AFM.

Oh no, no cleaner used. I read all the warnings in various threads and took them to heart. I even informed the guys at the shop that it wasn't to be cleaned at all, with anything. All I did was pull the electronics pack off the AFM housing and wipe the gunk off to take the picture. It worked fine last week when I drove the car last, just decided that I needed to do something about that loose connector before it came apart entirely.

So a good quality epoxy is called for. Appreciate the help.
