I was wondering if anyone has used the stock AC fans as a supplement to their clutch fan I do not have AC any longer . I also have a good fan shroud, Good Fluidyne rad, Car runs at 175 to 180 with spikes to 200 after shut down on a hot day. I want to set up the AC fans with a switched source to supplement airflow while sitting in traffic or under spirited driving.

So I guess my Questions are?
Has anyone ever done this?
Will it work?
Are the potential benifits worth the effort?

Thanks Matt

Of course it will work. You could replace the stock AC fan switch in the thermo housing with a 170-180 deg one and wire it to the fan ground. Supply fused, positive power with an ignition activated relay and you will be good to go.

BTW - 175-180 deg F is a perfect ops temp. The 200 deg spike is perfectly normal after shut down.
