ok a guy wants to trade me cars and i reallly want ot get it he has a 88 mkIII with a 2jzgette in it from a artiso with an auto matic and there are only two things about it that i dont like. The guages dont work i have heard thats because he doesnt have a turbo cluster just want to make sure and when it gets into boost it stumbles bad. i think the stumble might be in the tranny cause it sounds like the motor still is making power but idk what could cause it its only there for a second or two then its like a bat out of hell. Hope u guys can help me out i reallly want to get it but i dont want it to blow up in a few days lol thanks guys

If you are mechanically inclined i would say do it. But plan on haveing a project or 2 that will keep you busy.
Good luck!

In my experience, if you dont know exactly what you are getting yourself into there will be alot of unexpected events to happen.

If neither you or the guy trading the car know what the problem is i dont think its a good idea. BE PATIENT!

Corrected version by Suprahero:
Yes, I picked it up today. The body and interior both need work, but it's fast. I've already got an issue though. While I was driving it home, the car cut off and now it won't start. It did not overheat and I don't think it's getting fuel to the injectors. The fuel pump is coming on, but I think my fuel filter is clogged. What do you guys think?

Baldeagle, this is a period "."
You use it at the end of your sentence and it makes them so much easier to read. If you want help in here, I suggest you make it a little easier on us to read your posts. People will look at your post and then just go to the next thread. I'm not making fun of you, I'm trying to help you get help from the other members here.

As for your car, did the guy tell you about any problems that he was having with the car? Have you checked for any codes that it might be throwing? When you say it quit, do you mean you were driving and it just shut down, or did you get it home and now it won't crank?

Before you tackle replacing your fuel filter, you might want to read this. It's long and will take you a couple minutes to read it, but do it.

I was driving and it just quit. then i walk out there today and it started right up so i wet to drive it around quick again it its stopped. Now the fuel pump wount even kick on so either the pump it bad or bad wiring im not sure. There is a check engine light i dont know whats its for also its has the abs light and brake lights on and the brakes suck lol. I found out today the front pads and frozen to the rotors and a few other things but its was worth the trade for my 88 honda civic with a swap. i got to rip into it and i havnt yet im in the army so well things are busy lol but i need to figure it out i want to drive it i cant wait. I need to sell my rx7 so i can get my supra on the road.
