Ok, i just transfered my 91 motor to my 87 body, but duh ... The harness is different, my 87 has 1 ecu harness and my 91 has two, what the f**k to do now, car wont start with the main computer on it..what now. its a m/t and yeah i used the 91 ecu but what i wanted to know is y it carry s two computers + the 91 harness has a different set up for the plugs, so i am going to pull everything and put it in the 87. and see what happens.

Swap the harnesses and the electronics that need to be swapped with it? If you keep the 91 injectors in the car bypass the injector resistor block.

Seems obvious enough to me... am I missing something?

I was always under the impression that Harness and ECU should be from the same year. Or at least 87-88, 89, or 90-92.

At least thats what I got from reading

Ok I just swapped my manual 88 N/A into a 90 turbo auto body . I ran into a few snags too. But IM assuming you used the 91 harness and ECU when you did the swap. This is what I did an every thing was fine ( sort of )after I fixed it !

Take the harness and injectors off the 87 motor, put them on the 91 motor, and use the 87 ecu. Not sure what else is different between the two motors.

A car lot I used to work for loved junk yard motors. I learned real quick to set the motors side by side on the floor, and compare them. Anything that was different on the new motor got replaced with the parts off the old motor. That way I didn't have harness connector issues, injector issues, tps sensors, or any of that.

see the think is that the 91 motor has two ecu and the 87 has one.

Yeah, we know they're different, that's why you SWAP ALL THE ELECTRONICS. What are you not understanding? You take the harness and injectors and distributor (and anything else that's different) off of the original '87 engine and put it all on the '91 engine... boom! Now you just drop it in, plug it in and drive away.

If there's some bigger problem here, I've completely missed it. Someone car to fill me in, if that is the case?
