7mgte in a 81 corolla

hey guys i have a chance at getting a 1981 corolla 4 door its reaR wheel drive 4 cyl.however i do not want to keep that lil 4cyl in there. i would like to know if anyone has ever put a 7mgte in one of those chassis. im lookin to possibly put a rotary or the 7m. i was wondering if the 7m would be good in that chassis for the street if major fabrication would have to be done to fit the tranny?i m looking to avoid sheet metal work. thanks for all the input

My friend had 7m in a 75 (IIRC) 2 door rolla.
It's probably possible, but it's going to take a LOT of custom fab work.

i have seen a 7m-gte in a 1986 corolla, im guess you have tocustom fab the dp, driveshaft, transmission mounts and other things. i have no clue, but i have seen it before.
