Im new to 7M's, not toyota's though, used to working on R series motors and 3VZE's in pickups. My dipstick keeps blowing out on my 7MGE, I made a thread over on supraforums.com but I cant stand the server always being down there.
Ive narrowed it down to either blow by, aka worn rings/lands, or the PCV system. My question is about the big diameter black rubber pipe next to the the oil cap on the side of the valve cover that runs down between the alternator/intake and into the block. What does it do? mines definetly original as its rock hard.. but someone re-routed it around some lines(fuel lines I think?) down near the bottom of the intake manifold and it looks pretty kinked. I checked the stainless steel tube and rubber connectors at the back of the valve covers that is connected to the intake for the vacuum, I can blow through the stainless tube no problem, I never blew out the places they are connected to with my compressor because I didn't want to damage anything, is it ok to do this?
Im going to stop at Toyota and pickup a replacement for the large diameter tube at the front of the valve cover tommoro morning, I know it will cost me an arm and a leg to get the OEM piece but I dont feel like messing around with heater hose and crap that isnt right(normally I do this kind of thing on my 20R because I dont really care).
Would it being kinked be a possible cause of my dipstick popping out though?
the hose im talking about is the large one coming from beside the oil cap on the valve cover in this pic:
(not a pic of mine) mines kinked about half way down as I said
