Hey so I finally got my 1j running right and took it out for its mayden voyage
So anyways on the way back I blew out my front main seal:nono:
I got it into the shop and pulled it apart. and you all know how it goes, the "well while I'm there" thingy led to me dropping my subframe to do bushings, rebuild my rack and reseal the oil pan.
After I had the oil pan off I wanted to see how my bearings were looking and anyways they were all grooved and my crank has scratches in it I can feel with my fingernail:3d_frown:
So anyways to sum it up, i'm putting it back together now and am going to buy a 2jzge bottom end. I have a couple questions though.
1. How hard is the machining process to incorporate the piston squirters?
2. Can I use the 2jz head? I am planning on running it off of my AEM EMS and want to know if I need to buy the gtte head because of the location of the cam sensors??
3. I am planning on using cp pisons and was thinking of a 9:1 compression ratio paired with a gt3540r. I am going to use meth to combat the knock and want to dd at about 15psi but will prob turn it up to 25 or so eventually.
