Hey guys, the plans are to add some 272's cams in my non vvti GE head. I know retainers and shims are needed for this, what I am debating is do I need to upgrade the valve stems too?

What happens if the stock valves are used? Just want some input before doing anything. Thanks in advance.

You don't really NEED springs and retainers with 272's. Good to have. I have never, ever heard of a valve floating on any 2JZ with stock springs and retainers with most 272's (9.3mm lift).

Ferrea stem seals are cheaper than OEM IIRC.

I would definitely swap the stem seals out while you have the head apart.

Good luck.

Cool thanks for the input. I was just wondering if there was real need to swap them out.
