"2000-3000rpm test" ?

Can someone explain what this test is? I was reading the forums and now I'm curious...

Probably reading threads about the dreaded rod knock... In our cars (not sure if all cars are like this), the sound of a rod knocking is usually most audible between that rpm range.

Good,now this gives me the opp to rebuild the dam thing...its funny,I have been waiting to rebuild my motor for a while now. This year is going to be interesting...
