These spoilers were never dealer installed as far as I know. The dealer-installed spoilers for 89+ N/A's were only 1-piece.

The 3-piece spoilers came mounted from the factory and as such, there is no template I know of for them. When you replace any part like a quarter panel or a hatch, they came with the holes drilled from the factory.

Wish I hadn't lost the dealer invoice on my car... It was purchased with a dealer installed 3 piece wing. I bought it from the original owner and she specially requested it at the time.

Maybe just take a piece of paper or cardboard and trace out the wing parts in the correct arrangement then measure the parts to figure out where to mark the holes. Then you can use the cardboard as a template for your car.

spipedong, was your car originally N/A?

As for dealer installing the 3-piece spoiler, it's certainly possible (don't get me wrong). We've installed more than a couple factory spoilers on cars at work. Just saying there was no installation kit (with instructions, a template, etc). If a customer wants a factory spoiler, we get a body shop to install it.

Yessir. Basest of the base models. No TEMS, no ABS, no nothing.

I'd bet she saw the wing on a turbo car and had to have it but didn't want to pay for the turbo.

There was never an installtion kit seperate. It was just a paper template rolled up inside the spoiler packaging. Dont bother going to dealership to get one as they will no longer exist. The best thing you can do at this point is to measure everything and lay it out on your car with a grease pencil. It is time consuming but can be done as I just completed one myself.

It came in each piece of the spoiler? There are part numbers for each piece and no way to order a complete spoiler.

If it did come rolled up inside, it would probably still come if you ordered a new spoiler, lol.

Ahh well, if you can't get it traced, send it to a body shop, I'm sure they'd be able to.

Hey Jeff:

Some dealers (Obviously not yours) had a "turbo appearance package" for the NA Supras. (Biggest waste that I've ever heard of) They'd bolt on the spoiler and put the turbo badging on NA cars. I only know this because I ran across someone who had it dealer installed.

Most likely, these templates were made by the dealers so that they could have easy repeatability installing the spoilers themselves.

Not necessary fora one-of install, you'd only want something like that if you're trying to minimise the labour cost on installing this multiple times.

That is pretty funny...
I know there's a line item on my car's invoice for a spoiler but I sure don't have a turbo badge.

Not the factory spoiler. There was a dealer installed spoiler that mimics the factory spoiler. That is the one that came with the template inside.

I have never seen a template inside the factory spoilers that I have handled. Not even the ones we ordered from Toyota for the Camry's.

Yeah I figured as much, now that I think about it actually, I remember a thread a while back with some pictures of a 3-piece spoiler that looked different on the underside than most others. It was probably some dealer-option spoiler.

I've got my old accessory books from the 80's and there is no listing for it, but that's probably just a Canada thing.

It may even be a NA district thing as well. I remember that some of our Camry's had some weird option that wasnt available in another district. I dont remember what it was ATM.

The thread you refer to was Doward asking about a different center pedestal on his 89+ wing which was a dealer install wing.

has anyone gotten anymore info about this? i looked at toyota and that was a no go. i tryed finding a mk3 with a three piece around my area so i could take theres off and make a template if they were willing to help but couldent find one. if anyone is takeing theres off for any reason and wants to make a template of the holes for me that would be awwsome. i mean it isent that hard
take off the spoiler lay a piece of paper down and set the piece down over top of it. makeing holes through into the body of the car where they would be then traceing around it once its on the car. but i cant do it. just an idea if anyones up too it?
