1 Inline Walboro, 1 MKIV intank and oneway valve for safety?

Ok, I have some concerns about dual fuel pump setups that I'm wondering if they can't be solved with a oneway valve arrangment.

I have a MKIV Denso pump intank, and a walboro inline pump also. The concern is that when the walboro is not in operation it appears to be a total block for flow. So if it fails I imagine it would cause a very sudden lean situation and kill my engine.

My idea is to run a hose around the walboro, a bypass if you will, that has a oneway valve in it and prevents backwards flow to the tank if the walboro fails and allows fuel to go around it.

Or perhaps a Y pipe to 1 line from both with oneway valves?

Or am I missing something obvious here?

And sorry bout this, but I don't understand/have never seen a swirlpot or surgetank for fuel.

The Walbro should be a flow-through filter, meaning if it's not on, you should still receive fuel. The Paxton kit for my truck came with a walbro inline, and I STILL have that thing in the loop but not powered on....I get plenty of fuel just fine (blower's been off the truck for a few years now).
